These tips and guidelines will help you prepare for your advising appointment and registration time. You will need to meet with your advisor before you can register for classes. At your advising appointment, your advisor will give you an advising code for registration. Enter this six-digit code on bu. The Student Link will remember your advising code and your account will automatically unlock at your registration time. Use the course planner to build your schedule on the Student Link. The planner does not reserve seats in classes, but will make the registration process easier.
Tips for First-Semester Registration. Depending on your program, you may preregister for first-semester classes before arriving on campus for Orientation, or you may register during Orientation itself. Either way, you will have a chance at Orientation to talk through your courses with an advisor. Some programs have a tightly structured plan for first-semester students, while others allow great flexibility. These tips provide some general guidance on how to think about integrating Hub courses into your first-semester schedule. They may also raise some questions you can discuss with your advisor at Orientation or during the beginning of the semester.

Using the Student Link, you can view and change your personal information, view your student account, check your grades, confirm classroom locations, and much more. Your BU login name and Kerberos password provide access to important personal information; safeguard your Kerberos password and do not give it to anyone. Students can add or drop courses on the Student Link where seats are available. This form cannot be used to address preferred time or instructor, nor can the waitlist form be used to request section changes for these reasons. Once a course fills for the first time, it is closed on the Student Link and any seats that later become available are filled from the waitlist.
