The Campus Bike Center — a collaboration between the University of Illinois and The Bike Project of Urbana-Champaign — is dedicated to empowering cyclists with the know-how to repair and maintain their own bikes. This knowledge will allow cyclists to stay on the road, avoid some costly repairs, and make it easier for folks to transition from cars to riding a bike. This learning is centered around learning how to fix and maintain your bicycle. During open hours each weekday, the Campus Bike Center provides tools, parts, refurbished bikes for sale, and dedicated volunteers to help shop members and the larger community with their bicycle maintenance needs. The Campus Bike Center also distributes UI bike registration stickers; maintains the campus Bike Fix-it Stations; provides a central base for the bicycling community on campus; encourages mode-shift through various events and classes throughout the year; distributes and explains educational information and resources regarding bicycling; educates students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors about basic bicycle maintenance; and collaborates with campus and community partners in bicycle-related programs.

A simple universal add-on sticker that works with any bike, the Wheel Flash helps increase visibility and prevent accidents that occur due to the slim and silent nature of cycles. Made to work without needing any electricity, Wheel Flash uses a pigment made from glass powder that helps reflect back any sort of light but with a much higher intensity, making them visible to drivers on empty, dark roads. Stick them on your bicycle wheels and on the handlebars, and the cyclist instantly becomes visible as the stickers glow brightly even in the lowest of light conditions. Mounting the stickers on the wheels creates a moving light pattern when the wheels rotate, allowing them to grab the attention of any oncoming traffic, while the stickers meant for the handlebars prevent head-on collisions letting people know when a speeding bicycle is approaching them. Weighing as much as a sheet of paper, the Red Dot-winning Wheel Flash stickers come pre-cut and ready to use.

  1. We know what it's like to beaver away at your bike, only to find that it was absolutely pointless and you need another part that's only available in Bulgaria and maybe you can get it if you win the bid on ebay but if you don't then you have to commission this one frame builder to make the part from scratch but frame builders don't really like to make parts so if they say no you're back at square one
