Additional security was, at the last minute, put in place after the horrific events at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester earlier that week, giving extra piece of mind to attendees. While it is completely out of the hands of Frazier and his team as to who cancels and when, there was a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth on social media. However, carry on regardless the event must. A change to entrance proceedings saw a smooth badge pick up and then straight into a holding area ready for the am doors open for those of us with general entry. While there it was noticeable to see how neatly the queue lines had been formed. General entry people had a zigzag pattern to follow. What took place with five minutes included Rooker coming out from behind his desk and introducing me to everyone waiting, followed by suggesting everyone bought my book, followed by him putting me on the spot and asking me to tell everyone where it is available!
Best of all? Fly on our free zip line, or practice your skills with safe archery! The event took place over the weekend of the 27th and 28th May at Olympia in London. Heroes and Villains Fan Fest the brainchild of actor Stephen Amell and James Frazier, creator of the zombie and horror event Walker Stalker Con has become an incredibly popular convention, offering something for everyone from the diehard fan… to families… to those with a growing interest in the genre. More than 20 of the most popular actors from shows and films such as Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, Gotham, Agent Carter, Guardians of the Galaxy were in attendance, meeting their fans, signing autographs, having pictures taken. There were also talks given by the various stars, including John Barrowman in a dress and heels!
This convention is Heroes and Villains Fan Fest and it is dedicated to celebrating superhero fandoms. Heroes and Villains Fan Fest is spread across two days and offers fans the chance to enjoy a convention based around some of their favourite Marvel and DC heroes. They have the opportunity to meet the stars of some big name superhero Films and TV shows. London was lucky enough this year to have some amazing guests who have been in some pretty big films such as Michael Rooker Yondu and Sean Gunn Kraglin who both very recently appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. This was the first time the convention has come over to the UK. Previously Frazier has run it in many states around the US but after the success of Walker Stalker Con London, he knew this would also work well over here. He is also a very dedicated fan like the rest of the people attending this convention.
No convention is a real convention without John Barrowman being part of it. He is a true entertainer and knows exactly how to play with the audience to keep their attention and so that everyone at the panel has a fun one hour and one that everyone will remember for a long time. Everyone who has witnessed a John Barrowman panel before or has seen footage of one knows exactly why that is the case. If you are one of those few who have never seen a video or a picture of one of his panels before, then you just have to take a look at how John entered the stage and you know why he was the perfect reason to open the convention. Well JohnBarrowman never disappoints!
