After a week in Pisa, we fancied a trip to a beach so took the train 15 mins north to Viareggio, a querky little Tuscan seaside town. After meandering down a quaint ally between the beach and the promenade we came across a few little restaurants with their own private part of the beach. The service was exceptional, it was a friendly atmosphere, quiet and relaxing. The food turned up and after ordering the same dish yesterday Spaghetti Scoglio , this one outshone it by a mile. There was a generous portion of seafood, no grit or sand. It was perfectly cooked spaghetti and a lovely sauce. To top it off, it was very good value for money.
